Foster Care Kit Drive

The heart behind having a Foster Care Kit Drive is when children are removed from unsafe situations and placed in foster care, they often spend a period of time in an office waiting for a placement to be arranged. This can be a scary, uncertain time. Foster Care Kits provide children with comfort items for this transition stage, as well as basic necessities for their first night in a new home. A teddy bear, pajamas, and some basic hygiene items can go a long way in helping a child navigate these traumatic events.

Collection Point: Main Office (Belvedere Campus)

Collection Dates: May 1-May 31

Build a Kit:
1. Choose Age & Gender
2. Fill a shopping bag with all of the essential items and at least 4 of the “Bonus” items.
3. Download label (link below), indicate the appropriate age/gender of the child and attach the label to the front of the bag.
4. Drop off the bag in the Global Cafe between May 1 and May 30.

Items for Kit:

• 0-1 Year 
  Essentials: Bottles (2), Pajamas (1), Pacifier (1), Travel-sized baby shampoo (1)
  BONUS: Stuffed animal, taggie blanket, baby blanket, hair accessories, brush, board book, baby toys, interactive toys (include batteries)
• 2-4 Years
  Essentials: Sippy Cups (2), Pajamas (1), Toothbrush (1), Toothpaste (1), Comb/brush (1)
  BONUS: Stuffed animal, doll, blanket, coloring book and crayons, cars, fun Band-aids, board books, play-doh, stickers, and small ball
• 5-9 Years
  Essentials: Pajamas (1), Toothbrush (1), Toothpaste (1), Comb/brush (1), Deodorant (1), Travel body wash (1), wet wipes (1 pack), reusable water bottle (1)
  BONUS: Stuffed animal, doll, blanket, coloring book and crayons, cars, fun Band-aids, board books, play-doh, stickers craft kit, small ball
• 10-17 Years
  Essentials: Pajamas (1), Toothbrush (1), Toothpaste (1), Comb/brush (1), Deodorant (1), Travel body wash (1), wet wipes (1 pack), reusable water bottle (1)
  BONUS: Stuffed animal, doll, blanket, coloring book and crayons, cars, fun Band-aids, board books, play-doh, stickers craft kit, card game, notebook/pen
