Care & Pastoral Counseling
At times, everyone faces difficulties that are too difficult to handle alone. When turning to family or friends just isn’t enough, the Pastoral Counseling Ministry of Warren offers pastoral counseling approaches that both honor Christ and take into consideration the whole person – mind, body, and spirit.
Pastoral Counseling
Pastoral Counseling requires patience, commitment, and trust. It involves working with a trained professional to address emotional, psychological, social, and behavioral issues. Typically, the first step in pastoral counseling is an initial consultation to discuss your concerns and goals with the pastoral counselor. From there, the pastoral counselor will work with you to create a plan tailored to your specific needs. This may involve weekly or bi-weekly pastoral counseling sessions and homework assignments to practice new skills.
Over time, pastoral counseling can help you gain insight and develop healthier coping strategies to improve your overall well-being. Therefore, your pastoral counseling depends largely on your willingness to engage in this process, which may sometimes result in significant discomfort. In other words, sometimes, we may feel worse before we feel better, and others may not be happy about the changes you make. But if you persevere, we will support you and help you clarify what you want for yourself. And you can stop at any given time. The choice is yours.
