Questions parents ask

Warren’s own answers about registering, evaluations, practices and teams.

My child has never played a sport before. Is experience required?
Absolutely not! Warren Sports are designed to help athletes of all levels feel welcome. Through weekly practices, players are given the necessary skills they need to grow in their sport - no matter their age.
Can I pay by cash or check?
Yes. Please register in person at the Warren Sports & Fitness office.
Are evaluations mandatory?
Evaluations are intended for children Grade 1 and up. Evaluations are strongly recommended in order to give your child the best playing season possible. If a large amount of players are unable to attend the first night of evaluations, a makeup date will be considered.
I've registered. What do I do now?
Wait for an email regarding evaluations. After your player attends evaluations, he or she will be assigned to a team. You will hear directly from your coach via phone or email the week before practice begins. Your coach will inform you of practice and game times. Athletes will practice 1 hour per week on either a Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday night. (Please note that based on league size, some practice locations may be off campus. You will be notified of this prior to practices.)
Can I come by the Warren Sports and Fitness to fill out a form?
Yes, but we would prefer for our families to register online.
Can siblings practice on the same night of the week?
We always try to honor these requests. While we cannot guarantee that both players' practices will be at the same time, we aim to place them on teams that share a practice night. Please indicate a carpool note on your form upon registration.
Can my child be on the same team as his or her friend?
We try to honor these requests if possible, but ultimately our focus is on making evenly skilled teams for balanced play. Please notate this request upon registration, but keep in mind that not all requests can be met. Beginning January 2020, changes requested after the season begin will only be considered in the instance of medical needs or sibling schedules.

League questions go to Gary Henderson, Community Sports Director, on 706-922-7050 or at garyh@warren.church. Registration is on Upward (opens in a new tab).
