As we make our way through the Tabernacle this week, pray before you begin, ask the Lord to open your eyes and enlighten your mind to the presence of Jesus.

Read Exodus 25:31-40 and 27:20-21 and Leviticus 24:2
The Golden Lampstand (Golden Candlestick or Menorah) was in the Holy Place across from the Bread of the Presence. It was all one piece made of one talent of solid gold and weighed over 100 pounds. The Lampstand had a center column and six branches for a total of seven lights. The priests were to keep olive oil in each of the seven cups that held the wicks. Each cup was shaped like a flower blossom. The priests were instructed to keep the lamp burning at all times. It was the only light for the tabernacle.
Read John 1:4-5 and John 8:12
Jesus is the light of the world. Just as the light of the Golden Lampstand shone brightly in the Holy Place, so the light of Jesus’ presence shines brightly in a dark world full of sin. Jesus’ light shone the brightest and gave the most glory to the Father when He gave His all on the cross for His bride – the church. It was a beautiful act of selfless love that continues to bring glory to God and radiates on all who believe.
Read Matthew 5:14-16, Ephesians 5:8, 1 Peter 2:9
We are to be light in a dark world since we have the illuminating Holy Spirit in us. The light that is reflected in us because of Jesus’ influence on us brings glory to the Father. We have been called out of darkness and into the marvelous light of Christ.
Read Psalm 27:1 & 119:105
As we read the Word of God it seeps through the deep parts of our mind and illuminates our thoughts and feelings. God’s Word lights our way and gives us new things to think about and new information to keep our minds set upon always looking to Him.
Experience … Jesus’ presence as you pray and thank Him for being light in the darkness. Thank Him for the Holy Spirit that illuminates your thoughts, and the truth of His Word that lights the way. Thank Him for opening your eyes and revealing Truth to you.
Exclaim … and proclaim that Jesus shines brightly in our dark world. Tell others about the Light of the World. Share the Gospel and let the brightness of Jesus’ presence usher others into the Kingdom of marvelous light.
- Are you allowing Jesus’ light to shine through you? Why or why not?
- Who do you need to share the light with next week?
SHARE the Light!
