Christian Living
What our pastors have said about Christian Living, drawn from messages preached across our campuses.
In their own words
“Christians. Christians who live out the love of Christ, Christians who reflect the character of Christ, Christians who live with a different value system and a different vision of life. It was the context of encouragement that caused the early church to be known as little Christ.”
David H. McKinley · Do You Need a Lift?“Our lives as Christians can often be just like that. Our lives as Christians can often be just like that, right? Our verse that we just read through in 1 John chapter 3 talks about three theological concepts that we've been kind of brushing over or I guess getting into as we've gone through 1 John. And that is justification, sanctification, and glorification. Those are big words, but I will explain with our picture. In the military, you sign the dotted line. As soon as you sign the dotted line, you are in.”
Pablo Cruz · The Christian Life is a Process“I would. I mean, I haven't met all the Christians that ever lived, but of the ones I know or know about, to for to me, the Apostle Paul's the greatest Christian who ever lived. And yet, he said in Philippians chapter 3, I I haven't arrived by any means.”
· Man to Man 2026 | Day 2“Because Paul does write and talk about this idea of the filling of the Spirit. The indwelling of the Spirit happens at the moment of salvation. But the filling of the Spirit is something that happens day by day as we live and walk in the Spirit. And so where many of us find our lives is that we are no longer natural. We are spiritual, but tragically, we are carnal.”
David H. McKinley · Looking Up and Living On“But secondly, we understand that life is never meant to be lived alone, the Christian life at least. The Christian life is meant to be lived in community, where we're sharing life with one another. We call these life groups. And that's why, adults, if you haven't found a life group yet, I desire with everything in me that you would worship God, but this wouldn't end here, that you would then go and you would get in a deeper community. A church of 300, you can just be a spectator in the back of the room. But when you get in a community of believers where there's 10, 15, 20 of you, then you get to know one another.”
Stephen Newman · There is More to Life Than Meets the Eye“God. Because we don't want to be people, we don't want to be Christians who are apathetic, who live this bland form of Christianity and the Christian faith. No, we want to experience and know deeply who God is. And we're going to be following and looking at the model that King David set. And so to do that today, we're going to ask and answer three questions. It's real simple. First question is this. If you're taking notes, I just want to encourage you to take notes with us today.”
Riley Blair · A Hunger for God“They may have a Bible verse or a Christian phrase in their Instagram bio, but at the end of the day, the claim to the faith is empty. Like the words expressed in verses 15 and 16, he says, if a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, I'll go in peace, be warmed and filled without giving them the things needed for the body. What good is that?”
Austin Anderson · A Faith That Lives“It's got to have water. It's got to have nutrients. And so in the same way, he says, this is the life-giving living water. Like if we want to live the Christian life, if we want to live the life that matters, we want to leave a legacy. We want to stand before God and him give commendation for what we have done and who we have influenced and who we have impacted. It will all be because of what we have drank deeply from the word of God and from the testimony that he's given us. in his word, will be planted by streams of water. We will yield its fruit in its season.”
