Family

“The family is the master design of God's plan for our good. The family, which is taken and highlighted here, one of the families, your family, my family, of whom all the families of earth are named, but ultimately because we are a part of God's family, this is a part of God's plan for our good. And therefore, family is vital to God's purpose for humanity and God's picture of the gospel.”

“We're in a series called It's All in the Family. And we've talked about how that every one of us are a part of the human family in the global reality of the world. We are a part of our own individual family, the home in which we live or from which we've come. And then because we're in a church, we're a part of a church family. And we've been talking about all these different dynamics and relationships.”

“Your family is blessed, as your family is on fire, as your family is anointed, then neighborhoods begin to change because of your hospitality, because your kids are sent out into schools and they impact schools and generations and kids in neighborhoods.”

“We as the church are a family. Notice what it said in verse 18. That you may have the strength to comprehend with all of the Oh, let's try that again, church family. Here we go. That you may have the strength to comprehend with all of the saints. Right? Who are the saints? We are, right? We're saints. This is a communal family experience.”

“And then we have a husband, and here we have a wife, and then we have children. But the children are secured within the stability of the relationship where there's a husband who is seeking Christ and a wife who is seeking Christ. And as they are growing together in Christ, there is strength and beauty and blessing in the life of the family. Not a perfect family.”

“And so you may see me look at my notes a lot because I really want to be clear when I say these things. But what I want to do is give us perspective regarding the call of God in our family. First to the wife, then to the husband, then to the kids, and then to parents. So do not be offended. Here's a picture. Can I get a picture of my family? That's my family. I show this to you for a couple different reasons, but I want you to see my family.”
