Stewardship
What our pastors have said about stewardship, drawn from messages preached across our campuses.
In their own words
“That he would have fresh speak something in your heart and in your mind to step out and experience his power as you get out of the boat of your comfort zone and take a step of obedience towards him. When you hear the word stewardship, this is completely kind of boop, we stopped there, left turn. So when you hear the word stewardship, what do you think of? Like what comes to mind? Money, right? Money. So when you hear stewardship or stewardship campaign in the church, it's a fundraiser. It's usually money.”
Stephen Newman · When Death is Looming“It's actually a practical expression of faithful stewardship. Let me say that again. A budget is more than a financial plan of just making goals and crushing them. It's a practical expression of faithful stewardship. You know, stewardship, you know what that means? It means faithful management.”
Stephen Newman · When Money Owns You“Reliant strength. The second R that I want you to get today is radical stewardship. Say that with me. Radical stewardship. Radical stewardship. Acts 2, 44 through 45.”
Stephen Newman · Here Today“And so what that causes deep in our beings is a gratitude and then a stewardship. Gratitude is thank you, Lord. The stewardship is, Lord, teach me to number my days that I may make the most of every moment that I have.”
Stephen Newman · The Myth of Control“Men, I just wanna tell you something today. I don't have time to unfold this with the message that I have because I need to get to a point of an invitation that I wanna give you. But men, you are the spiritual leader of your home. You are the primary pastor to your wife and your kids and you cannot teach what you do not know. We cannot be a church or a people that abdicate this God-given stewardship that God has given you. We cannot outsource this stewardship to our kids' ministry who, if they are very lucky, they get your kids for maybe 100 hours a year.”
Stephen Newman · Busyness - An Invitation to Rest“So they deserved the respect because they had a job to do. I'm even saying that, if that makes sense. Here's the third thing is this, is that we have a responsibility with the stewardship for the good of others, a stewardship for the good of others. Citizenship is not merely a right to enjoy, but a responsibility that we must steward before God.”
Shane Padgett · The Principle of Freedom“It talks to us about work, it talks to us about stewardship, and it talks to us about God's care for us. Work, stewardship, and God's care for us.”
David H. McKinley · Learning to Pay It Forward“Whenever I wear my all-white shoes, I have rules. and I try to follow them, one of the rules is that I try to never step on soft ground. I always try to stay on solid ground. Why? Because I don't want to mess up the shoes. I know that might sound a little vain, but I just keep it as a stewardship, a point of stewardship. And don't we all do that? In the same way, we would be wise to follow wise plans so that we would have always established footing.”
