Pray Without Ceasing

Pray Without CeasingPray without ceasing – 1 Thessalonians 5:17

This verse exhorts us to pray continually. It reminds us that prayer needs to become a way of life for us. As we go about our day, we should do so in an attitude of prayer.

As we learn to “pray continually” we learn the lesson that we need to be “poor in spirit.” In other words, we need to be continually dependent upon God. The result is that prayer becomes as natural for us as breathing.

We must have air to live, and we must have prayer to live!

Acts 17:28 says it this way …

In Him we live and move and have our being.

Everything must begin and end with God. He doesn’t need us to pray for His sake; He wants us to pray for our own sake

A.W. Pink puts it this way …

Prayer is not so much an act as it is an attitude – an attitude of dependency, dependency upon God.

What is your attitude about prayer?

Do you need prayer like you need air?

Show your dependency on God by communing with Him throughout your day and as you do, pray for those you know who need God’s hand of provision for their situation.
