Day 16

Reading
Now this I say and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds. They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart. They have become callous and have given themselves up to sensuality, greedy to practice every kind of impurity. But that is not the way you learned Christ! Assuming that you have heard about him and were taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus, to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life as is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness. Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another. -Ephesians 4:17-25

Prayer
Heavenly Father, You have set us apart as a holy people. May our steps look different from the world’s as we pursue You. Father, I pray for a pliable heart and that the Church would seek You above all else. Help us to put away our former selves and pick up the cross to live for the light that can only be found in You.

Additional Prayer Questions & Points to Pray Through

  • Do I live my life in pursuit of the truth that can only be found in Christ?
Lord, help me to remain focused on Your truth and to seek the things that are from above.
  • Do I daily ask the Lord to renew my mind?
Father, restore to my mind those thoughts which are pleasing to You. I ask for forgiveness for all negative thoughts and ask for a renewal—that my mind would be drawn to things that bring life. Help me to dwell on Your truth and not the destruction of this world.
