Day 14
Reading
I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call—one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. -Ephesians 4:1-6
Prayer
Father, our land and even our churches are weary. Weary of different ideas, different views on the issues of this world. Remind us Lord that we belong to one body, one faith in You. Lord, we humbly seek You and lay down our pride in the pursuit of love for one another as we strive for peace. Unify us to the call of one body, one church seeking You alone.
Additional Prayer Questions & Points to Pray Through
- Do I take time to contemplate what unity means and how we are one body, serving one Lord with one faith, one baptism to the one God who is Father of all?
Lord, help me to remain focused on the unity of the body of Christ, rather than on the many things which can divide us. - Am I walking with humility, not cloaked in pride and conceit, thinking I know better? Am I gentle to those around me, acting in patience and understanding?
Father, forgive me of my pride and the times I have let my frustrations take control. Help me to humble myself and act out of gentleness, placing my brother or sister in Christ before myself.
