Day 18 – Friday, October 18

Read … Then he said to me, This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.”  Zechariah 4:6

Remember I praise You today, Father, as the Lord of hosts – the commander of the Lord’s army, the One who battles, protects and delivers His covenant people. I praise You for Your power and might!

Reflect Thank You, Lord of Hosts, for fighting for me, protecting me and delivering me in my time of need. Because of Your covenant with me, I can trust and believe You in all areas of my life. I am grateful for the assurance that You will be with me as I go and serve You.

Renew Lord of Hosts, will You complete this new work in me by helping me battle the enemy that rages within me, my flesh? Your Word says, “My heart and flesh may fail me, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” (Psalm 73:26) My own fleshly desires will cause me to doubt Your calling. Protect my heart from these thoughts and do not allow me to take action on them by shrinking away from that which You have told me to do. Keep me humble, remembering that You call and equip me for service and for battle. In the power of Your might I pray. Amen.

Prayer is an acknowledgment that our need of God’s help is not partial but total.
