God – Our Comfort
This is my comfort in my affliction, that your promise gives me life.
– Psalm 119:50
Are you suffering? Do you know someone who is suffering today? Are you grieving the loss of a loved one or friend? Are you hurting because of some circumstance?
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as we share abundantly in Christ’s sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too. – 2 Corinthians 1:3-5
Pray to the God of all comfort. Ask Him to revive your heart through His Word and help you lean into Him for strength. Ask Him to sustain you, help you persevere, and find peace in the shelter of His loving arms. Pour out your heart to Him.
Arise, cry out in the night, at the beginning of the night watches! Pour out your heart like water before the presence of the Lord!
– Lamentations 2:19a
Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him;
God is a refuge for us.
– Psalm 62:8
