Guarding Your Thoughts
Many times in relationships our thoughts can be our worse enemy. We allow ourselves to fall into the trap of conjecture, speculation, or assumption. Instead of thinking the best of someone, we instead, assume the worst. A better way to love someone is by thinking on the things that are God-approved.
Philippians 4:8 gives us the criteria for our thought-life, and it provides excellent prayer points for our relationships, as well.
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in meā€”practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.
Prayer points for yourself and others:
- Truth and honesty
- Honor and mutual respect
- Justice and integrity
- Love and peace
