Diminishing Disappointments with Thankfulness
Disappointment is a part of life. We disappoint ourselves, others disappoint us, and we are often disappointed by our circumstances. But God gives us an antidote that will combat the disappointments of life. Its name? Thankfulness.
Read these verses about thanksgiving:
Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise! – Psalm 95:2
Pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. – 1 Thessalonians 5:17
First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people. – 1 Timothy 2:1
For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving. – 1 Timothy 4:4
- Will you choose to give thanks this week rather than fret and find fault?
- Will you show gratitude to God for His sovereign care over you in spite of your disappointments?
Stop right now and thank God for your blessings. Ask Him to give you a heart of gratitude. Where there is a heart full of thanks, there is no room for disappointment.
Happy Thanksgiving!
