This week’s WOW Weekly Moment is from Susan Cady’s blog, Get Real!
Let’s Get Real!
Get Real! What exactly does that mean?
Real: ˈrē(-ə)l
- of or relating to fixed, permanent or immovable things
- of or relating to practical or everyday concerns or activities
- genuine, not artificial, no additives
- to stop deceiving oneself or fooling around; face reality
Real — it’s become a relative term in our world today and hard to know at times what’s real and what’s not. Things are constantly in a state of flux -from our weather, to our economic and political situation and even our everyday lives at times. It’s easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of whatever has blown into our lives at the moment. It’s easy to lose perspective. It’s easy to become discouraged and feel overwhelmed by all life is throwing at us. And then we all tend to put on our “happy face” masks and walk around feeling isolated and alone, as if we are the only ones dealing with disappointment, discouragement and defeat.
They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served something created instead of the Creator, who is praised forever. –Romans 1:25
So where do we go for answers and how do we find purpose, joy, contentment and peace in the midst of life’s craziness?
Every word of God proves true; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. –Proverbs 30:5
But you are near, O Lord, and all your commandments are true. -Psalm 119:151
God’s Word and a growing relationship with Him has the answers we need! Are you willing to dig deep, and possibly get a little muddy along the way, in exchange for a life of joy, peace and contentment regardless of life’s circumstances?
Join us for Get Real, a weekly Bible study, where we will unpack a truth from Scripture that will help us find real answers. But beyond just learning truth, we will seek to share ways we can make this truth a real, practical part of our daily lives -taking us from living in mere survival mode to thriving, even in the midst of life’s disappointments, discouragements and defeats.
Text — Truth — Transformation will be our weekly format as we study the Word together.
When you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and when you believed in Him, you were also sealed with the promised Holy Spirit. -Ephesians 1:13
Jesus said to him, ” I am the way, and the truth, and the life. -John 14:6
“So Jesus said…if you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” –John 8:31
Guide me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; –Psalm 25:5
I hope you’ll make plans to join us, learn with us, share with us and grow with us. If you can’t join us in person on Tuesday mornings, we’d love for you to join us here each week!
