Read 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18: Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
As you pray today, begin by confessing that sometimes prayer is hard for you. Tell God that in a world that is constantly moving, being still is a struggle at times.
Lord, I thank You for …
- The gift of time spent with You.
- The Holy Spirit who teaches and leads me
Lord, I ask You for …
- The eyes to see things the way You see them—from a eternal perspective rather than an earthly one.
- Help with ________________________.
And now Lord, I rejoice in You today. All good things come from You. You are perfect in all of Your ways. You are gracious and kind.
Real prayer is communion with God, so that there will be common thoughts between His mind and ours. What is needed is for Him to fill our hearts with His thoughts, and then His desires will become our desires flowing back to Him.
