Lord, Help Me to Walk in Purity…

Read Psalm 1:1-6Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous; for the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish. As you pray today, begin by asking the Lord to help you walk in purity. Ask for the strength to remain focused on the Lord and His Word which is a sure foundation.

Lord, I thank You for …

  • Your Word which brings truth to my life
  • The gift of purity and the abounding joy it brings when my mind is stayed on You
  • The refreshment of my soul in the light of Your Word

Lord, I ask You for …

  • The desire to delight in Your Word
  • The discipline to strive for purity
  • The commitment to remain steadfast in studying Your Word and praying

And now Lord, I offer praise to You, for You are righteous and pure. Your Word is the truth that brings clarity to my life. Remind me of the joy that is found in Your presence, and the forgiveness that is freely given when I humble myself before You.

Before we pray that God would fill us, I believe we ought to pray for Him to empty us. – D. L. Moody
