Read … For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Hebrews 4:12
Remember … Lord, You are the God who sees. You see deep into the crevices of hearts and minds. You are all-knowing and all-discerning.
Respond … I don’t always see the condition of my heart. I am blinded by the false teachings of the world, and my mind often becomes desensitized to the sins that surround me. Please forgive me for this.
Reflect … Thank You for piercing my soul with Your spirit and with Your truth. I am grateful that You shine the light of Your Word into my sometimes darkened mind.
Renew … Help Your people – the church – make Your Word living and active in everyday life. Take Your Word and put it into the DNA of Your church so it becomes as much a part of our lifeline as the air we breathe and the food we eat. In Jesus’ name, amen.
We must allow the Word of God to confront us, to disturb our security, to undermine our complacency and to overthrow our patterns of thought and behavior. – John R.W. Stott
