Day 29 – Monday, March 3

Read … We want you to know, brothers, about the grace of God that has been given among the churches of Macedonia, for in a severe test of affliction, their abundance of joy and their extreme poverty have overflowed in a wealth of generosity on their part. 2 Corinthians 8:1-2

Remember … God of grace, You are great and greatly to be praised. You are generous in all Your dealings with Your people. Blessed be the name of the Lord!

Respond … I often take Your grace for granted. Sometimes I treat it flippantly and carelessly. Forgive my reaction to Your generous response of love to me.

Reflect … Thank You for the evidence of grace in my life. Thank You for times of affliction that test me and cause Your graced to be proved in my life.

Renew … Help Your people – the church – live lives of abundant giving. Allow Your grace to so overtake me that I become a person of undeniable generosity. In the midst of plenty or poverty, cause me to give generously to Your Kingdom for Your glory, Jesus, amen!

Obeying is easy when it makes sense and when milk and honey are flowing all around us, but the true test of our commitment is best seen when there is no refreshment in sight, just plain after plain of dry wasteland.
Will we obey God even then?  – Priscilla Shirer
