Read … For they gave according to their means, as I can testify, and beyond their means, of their own accord, begging us earnestly for the favor of taking part in the relief of the saints—and this, not as we expected, but they gave themselves first to the Lord and then by the will of God to us. 2 Corinthians 8:3-5
Remember … Jesus, You gave Your all at the cross, and Your loving sacrifice continues to bless and draw others to salvation. I praise You today as the God of my salvation!
Respond … Forgive me for my sins, Father. I make mistakes every day. I’m so sorry for sinning against you, Jesus. I’m sorry that my sins – past, present, and future – cause You to hang on a tree.
Reflect … Thank You for my salvation! I am grateful for this extravagant gift of grace.
Renew … Help Your people – the church – understand the depth of Your sacrifice. Give us a glimpse of what it truly means, and cause us to want to obey You and give ourselves to You completely as a church for Your honor. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Sacrifice is a part of life. It’s supposed to be. It’s not something to regret. It’s something to aspire to. – Mitch Albom
