Read … From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another. John 1:16 (NIV)
Remember … You are abundant. There is nothing lacking in You. Jesus, the grace-giver, You shower Your people with blessing after blessing.
Reflect … Thank You for the way You take care of me and those I love. Thank You for the ways, both big and small, that I see You working to bless us. You always make a way for Your people and provide in unforeseen ways.
Renew … I often take for granted the abundance of Your blessings. Please forgive me for that. Help me accept what You give as good, pleasing, and perfect and to be grateful for all things. Help me never complain that I lack anything, for in You there is no lack. Out of Your hand come blessing upon blessing. Show me today how I can give out of the abundance of what You have given me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Do you often feel like parched ground, unable to produce anything worthwhile? I do. When I am in need of refreshment, it isn’t easy to think of the needs of others. But I have found that if, instead of praying for my own comfort and satisfaction, I ask the Lord to enable me to give to others, an amazing thing often happens – I find my own needs wonderfully met. Refreshment comes in ways I would never have thought of, both for others, and then, incidentally, for myself.
