But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth. – Acts 1:8

As followers of Christ, we believe the Gospel transforms and shapes our lives, compelling us to live out a missional presence in the world. Because of the Gospel and its impact on us, our conviction is not only to observe a need, but also actively engage the need, confront the need, and embrace the need for the glory of God. Our Heavenly Father adopted us as His children by giving His only Son as payment for our sins. He saw our need and engaged by reaching out to us. Because God reached out for us, we must reach out to others and point them to Jesus. His great love empowers and implores us to live on mission for Him. We can’t just stand here; we must go there. God has called us to live on mission for Him as a way of life, and the Holy Spirit will empower us to do so if we will surrender to Him.

Use these prayer points to help you “Go There” this week.

  • Praise God for His supremacy and authority and for His love and mercy.
  • Repent from any disobedience or complacency that hinders God’s work in your life.
  • Ask the Holy Spirit to empower you to reach out to others in your daily life.
  • Yield to the Spirit’s power and go where God leads you.
