28 Days to Pray: Day 14

Lord, Teach Me to Pray through Pain …

Read Hebrews 4:14-16: Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

As you pray, draw near the Throne confidently, yet humbly, confessing your need for God’s grace in the situations you are walking in today.

Lord, I thank You for …

  • Your grace and mercy that helps me in times of need
  • Walking with me through every trial and suffering that I face

Lord, I ask You for …

  • The strength to not simply endure my current situation, but to grow in grace and in the knowledge of Christ Jesus in the midst of my suffering
  • Your protection as I walk through difficult times—protect my mind and my heart as I seek to follow You
  • An inner joy that only comes from you as I walk through this day no matter the circumstances

And now Lord, I offer praise to You. You are strength, hope, joy and love. I desire to delight and please You in the good parts of life and in the difficult. Be glorified in my life, Lord Jesus.

The secret is Christ in me, not me in a different set of circumstances. – Elisabeth Elliott
