Lord, Teach Me to Pray through Pain …
Read 2 Corinthians 4:16-18: So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.
As you pray today, begin by shifting your perspective to eternity rather than the present. Seek to look at your situation through the eyes of a loving Father who has greater knowledge than you rather than having the mind of a mere human who only sees what’s directly infront of him.
Lord, I thank You for …
- The difficult things that teach me to depend more on You
- Your Word that encourages, fortifies, and strengthens me
Lord, I ask You to …
- Help me live in light of eternity, knowing that difficult things shape me and make me more like You
- Allow me to encourage someone else today by sharing the truths You are teaching me through pain
And now Lord, I offer You praise. You are a strong tower that the righteous run to and are safe. You are a refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble. You are a shield around me, my glory and the lifter of my head.
Spread out your petition before God, and then say, “Thy will, not mine, be done.” The sweetest lesson I have learned in God’s school is to let the Lord choose for me. – D.L. Moody
