Read … As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. Ephesians 4:1-3
Remember … Lord Jesus, You are gentle, humble, and patient with Your children. You are the perfect example of selfless love.
Respond … I lack a gentle and humble spirit at times. I want my own way, and this often causes tension with others. Please forgive me for this prideful way of living.
Reflect … Thank You for showing me what peace and unity look like. Thank You for calling Your church to that high standard and for enabling us to fulfill it with Your Spirit’s help.
Renew … Help Your people – the church – live in peace with each other. Help us love one another and interact with hearts of love and gentleness. Give us eyes to see when we need to make concessions, when we need to keep silent, and when we need to adjust our attitudes in order to promote unity. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Whatever disunites man from God, also disunites man from man. ― Edmund Burke
