Read … Give generously to him and do so without a grudging heart; then because of this the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to. Deuteronomy 15:10
Remember … As I remember who You are today, Lord, I am reminded of the way You gave Your best gift for Your people through Jesus. You are the sacrificial giver, the one-and-only selfless, all-sufficient, Almighty God who gives with love and never regrets it!
Respond …When my heart wants to hold a grudge, please forgive me. I know I fall short of Your glory sometimes. I am so sorry.
Reflect … As I reflect on Your generosity toward people, I am thankful for Your example. Thank You for teaching me how to give. Thank You for the resources You’ve given me and for the command to give back to You with a happy heart.
Renew … Help Your people – the church – let go of what we have with open hands and open hearts. Will You give us the desire to be as generous with the resources we have as You were as You gave Your all for Your church through Jesus? Make us more like You in our offerings and sacrifices. For Your renown I pray, amen.
Human progress is neither automatic nor inevitable … Every step toward the goal of justice requires
sacrifice, suffering, and struggle; the tireless exertions and passionate concern of dedicated individuals.
