Read … Speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love. Ephesians 4:15-16
Remember … God, You are truth and Your Word is true. You are the same yesterday, today, and forever – the unchanging and eternal God of all creation!
Respond … I admit that I sometimes speak words that destroy rather than build up. I exaggerate at times and speak only what is partially true. This is a form of lying, and it is unholy in Your sight. Forgive me, Father.
Reflect … Thank You for the truth of Your Word, for the fact that You cannot tell a lie or deceive in any way. In a world that is dark and perishing with dishonor and deception, You are a beacon of light and hope.
Renew … Help Your people – the church – make much of the truth. Cause Your church to stand together for the truth and not shy away from proclaiming all that is good, honorable, pure, and just. As we are given opportunities to share truth, help us do so with a heart of love and not judgment. Help us also serve You as a church fully equipped so we can grow together and build the body of Christ for Your name’s sake, amen.
It matters enormously if I alienate anyone from the truth. – C.S. Lewis
